State of Maryland Awards Booth Management Consulting Contract to Help Businesses Grow for a Second Time
The Maryland
Department of Business and Economic Development has renewed a contract
with Booth Management Consulting, LLC to continue assisting small and
minority business owners with specialized services that they need in order
to succeed and grow. These services, which can be quite expensive, will be
provided free to qualified small business owners.
Over the next
five years, the Department will pay Booth Management Consulting to provide
assistance far beyond writing a basic business plan or applying for a
loan. Booth Management will connect small business owners with experts who
can provide guidance in web site development, patent applications, or
technology enhancements.
“We’re excited
that we will be able to continue our work assisting small businesses over
the next five years,” says partner Phil Booth. “This contract gives us tools to
assist business owners in getting the services they need to grow and
succeed.”
With small
businesses making up a substantial portion of Maryland’s economy,
the State recognizes a mandate for providing them with the assistance they
need to succeed.
The Department
currently provides some counseling services through the Maryland Small
Business Development Center Network, a joint state and federal program
with 22 offices throughout the state. However, its counselors lack the
expertise and resources needed to solve the more complex and technical
business issues.
The Development
Center will continue
to refer these clients to Booth Management. Department officials renewed
this contract with Booth Management Consulting because of our past
performance in assisting the Department in responding to the needs of
small businesses.
